QBOL Wins the PD Ports E-Commerce Exporter of the Year 2017
We are thrilled to announce that Quality Bearings Online have won the PD Ports Northern Powerhouse award for E-commerce Exporter of the Year 2017.
The event was a prestigious black-tie affair at the Marriott Hotel in Leeds on Thursday 9 February 2017 with over 200 people in attendance. It was a real celebration of the Northern Powerhouse and the outstanding achievements of all of the exporters across the North of England. This was reflected in the choice of guest speakers as we heard some truly inspiring exporting stories, and learnt a lot about local businesses.
The evening felt especially significant to us as a team. We have grown a tremendous amount in the past 24 months, taking on 2 new members of staff, hitting our target to export to all 50 states in the US, and supplying 77 countries around the world. Not forgetting our win at the Chase Awards in London, less than a year ago, where we won the Chase Award for Export.
Our Director Simon Riley said ‘The growth we have had over the last 24 months is extremely exciting. This growth is anticipated to continue for a long time to come. We are creating new jobs in the region which is something we are very proud of.’
Exporting became a natural step for us after reviewing our website analytics. Working with Department of International Trade and Yorkshire Marketing business Biskit Ltd, we undertook a full review of our systems in order to attract business from around the World. This review led to a number of changes and has resulted in QBOL being recognised as an exemplar Export Business.
Simon continued ‘We are understandably absolutely delighted to win the E-Commerce Exporting awards. To be recognised as the best exporter online in the Northern Powerhouse is a great achievement for us and testament to the hard work and dedication of all members of our team.’
With the Award won, and now sitting pride of place in our meeting room, we are looking forward to the exciting projects arriving later in the year. We have started 2017 with a bang and that is how we plan to continue. Congratulations everyone who was shortlisted and of course to the other winners at the Export awards. It was a wonderful evening and we can’t wait until next year.
