When wear and damage occur on a shaft, SKF Speedi-Sleeves are the solution.
In order to perform their function properly, shaft seals must be seated on a smooth, round shaft face. If the shaft face becomes worn the seal can no longer perform as necessary, and, over time, will allow contaminants to enter the component and cause further damage to both the shaft and the component. Simply replacing the seal will not repair the damage to the shaft and therefore, it would be necessary to take the machine apart and grind the shaft face down until smooth again which will allow the seals to function.
Speedi-Sleeves from SKF provide a proven solution to worn shafts without disassembling the shaft or requiring new seal sizes due to grinding the shaft down. They provide a new, smooth sealing surface for the seal to sit against, while preventing further wear to the shaft face. The 99275 Speedi-Sleeve is no exception. Made with SKF’s manufacturing process and proprietary stainless-steel material, this sleeve is a perfectly engineered seal counterface surface designed to minimize wear on the sealing lip. This Speedi-Sleeve’s dimensions are:
Shaft Diameter, minimum - 69.85mm
Shaft Diameter, maximum - 70mm
Width - 23.83mm.
SKF Speedi-Sleeves have a removable flange to simplify installation. The flange can be left intact, but it should be removed in applications where it will interfere with other components so as not to cause friction heat and wear debris. The flange should also be removed in applications where it may reduce the supply of lubricant to the seal.
SKF Speedi-Sleeves like the 99275, contain imperceptible lubricant pockets. These pockets enable lubricant to reside on the sleeve and prevent dry running of the sealing lip which can lead to excessive wear.
The 99275 sleeve is thin walled (0,28 mm / 0.011 inch) and the contact surface is wear-resistant and manufactured to minimize directionality (0° ±0,05) with a finish of Ra 0,25 to 0,5µm (10 to 20µin). This is a better counterface than can often be achieved on a shaft.

Below are the description and part numbers to the additional spare parts you can purchase with your product.
There are a few different ways in which you can identify which bearing you require for your machine,
Almost all bearings that we supply will be stamped with the bearing reference on the side,

These part numbers sometime are not the easiest to read therefore the bearing might require cleaning with an oily rag, or you may need a magnifying glass to see what the part number is.
Once you have found the part number then type that into our search box at the top of the page or use the search box below and you should find the bearing you are looking for.
If you cannot find the part number or the bearing is worn or damaged, you will need to measure the bearing to figure out which part you need. To do this you will need to use a Vernier caliper, and you will need to get three dimensions.

Inside Diameter | Outside Diameter | Width |
These three measurements will give you the dimensions that you will need to find the bearing you are searching for. Once you have the dimension sizes, type it into our search box in the following order; Inside Diameter, Outside Diameter, and width and our search engine will feed back the products that fit those dimensions.

This question normally comes down to the environment the bearings are being used it. For example, if the bearing is being used in a moist environment then you’d choose rubber or metal as the metal is more likely to rust.
If the environment is very contaminated, then you might choose a rubber seal to keep the contaminants from damaging the inside of the bearing.
Your decision could also come down to the temperature the bearing needs to work to or the speeds it needs to reach.
