The 45X72X10HMSA10V is a double-lip radial shaft seal from SKF, a trusted manufacturer and industry leader. This metric HMSA10 type seal has a viton rubber outside which provides enhanced sealing ability. The spring-loaded sealing lip maintains tight sealing even if the seal lip has suffered excessive wear, and aids in quick responses handling dynamic runout. The HMSA10 also has an auxiliary lip which is non-contacting, meaning it can maintain the same speeds as the HMS5 single-lip seal. The outside diameter of the 45X72X10HMSA10V is made of SKF’s fluoro rubber compound (V), also known as viton, which is used in applications where the operating temperature exceeds 100oC (210oF), the upper limit for nitrile rubber. Viton seals can be used in temperatures up to 200oC (390oF). Like the nitrile rubber, these viton seals have extended service lives, reducing the need for maintenance and replacement.
HMSA10 seals like the 45X72X10 HMSA10V offer improved sealing performance through features like an optimized rubber outside diameter and spring-loaded sealing lips. These elements ensure effective sealing even in challenging conditions, such as considerable surface roughness or split housings. The auxiliary lip enhances sealing capability without impacting operating speeds.
